The female ace has been linked to a drive with the Ken Anderson and Peter Windsor’s North Carolina-based operation since the new team first confirmed its bid for next season’s grid in February, the founders aiming to secure the services of at least one American driver.

But while both Anderson and F1 supremo Bernie Ecclestone have expressed interest in the possibility of her making the switch, Patrick herself seems to have now shut the door on any move despite currently being a free agent at the end of the IndyCar season.

Although Patrick said in February that she would be willing to speak to US F1 should the team get in touch after speculation first emerged about a potential F1 switch, five months on she says she hasn’t had contact with the team.
