Serena Williams Reaches 4th Round at US Open

Defending champion Serena Williams has moved into the fourth round at the U.S. Open with another straight set victory.

seeking her fourth title at Flushing Meadows and 12th Grand Slam singles championship, beat 43rd ranked Maria Jose Martinez Sanchez Friday.

They also played in the third round at the French Open, where Williams was pushed to three sets before winning.

In that match, Williams hit a ball she was sure went off Martinez Sanchez's arm, then said the Spaniard cheated by not acknowledging it. There was no sign of animosity Friday.

Williams now faces No 22 Daniela Hantuchova of Slovakia, who beat Vania King of the United States 6-2, 6-2.
