In a more than hour long December 2005 call to the Chief Risk Officer of the Fairfield Greenwich fund, he brags about how easy it is to deflect questions from examiners, at one point saying, "You know, you don't have to be too brilliant with these guys, because you don't have to be." The Inspector General's explains how easy it could be, saying the SEC dismissed numerous warnings because they weren't made from insiders with the investigation brought to the agencies "wrapped up in a bow.

Track's governing body has results of gender tests on South African runner Caster Semenya

The IAAF has received the results of gender tests on Caster Semenya, winner of the women's 800 meter world title last month, and will meet with the South African runner before completing its report.

IAAF spokesman Nick Davies said Thursday he couldn't confirm a story in Australia's Sydney Morning Herald newspaper stating that tests show Semenya has male and female sexual organs.
"We have received the results from Germany, but they now need to be examined by a group of experts and we will not be in a position to speak to the athlete about them for at least a few weeks.

"After that, depending on the results, we will meet privately with the athlete to discuss further action."
The Australian newspaper reported in its Friday edition that medical reports on the 18 year old Semenya indicate she has no ovaries, but rather has internal male testes, which are producing large amounts of testosterone.

Davies said the newspaper's report "should be treated with caution."
After dominating her race at the world championships in Berlin last month, Semenya underwent blood and chromosome tests, as well as a gynecological examination.

The IAAF has said Semenya probably would keep her medal because the case was not related to a doping matter.

Bruce Springsteen and Dave Brubeck will be among those honored this year at the 32nd annual John F. Kennedy Center celebration of the arts. Writer, composer, actor, director and producer Mel Brooks opera singer Grace Bumbry; and actor, director and producer Robert De Niro also will receive the Kennedy Center Honors of 2009, which will be celebrated with a star-studded gala Dec. 6 at the Kennedy Center Opera House, according to the center's website.

The books Vampire is based on predate both True Blood and Twilight, but you can't watch tonight's premiere without feeling tonal reverb from both, with every CW soap from Dawson's to One Tree Hill thrown in for good measure. The pieces are amusingly rearranged, but even the teen girls for whom the show is designed will recognize them as old, maybe even as old as the show's dueling blood brothers.

Competent as Vampire may be, there's also something rehashed and filtered about it, to the point where it sometimes feels like the kiddie-ride version of True Blood,and perhaps appropriately so. Some adults will no doubt tag along, but this show is aimed squarely at young girls, and they're likely to bite.
